What a day! Advocates’ 21st Annual Golf Tournament was a fantastic success, and we couldn’t have done it without the incredible support of our community. We didn’t let a little rain dampen our spirits at this year’s Family Picnic on Wednesday, September 9th! Despite the wet weather, people receiving services from Advocates, along with their family members and mentors, came together for an afternoon filled with food, entertainment, friendship, and fun. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces enjoying time together and making memories. We would like to thank our food and entertainment vendors for helping make the day special. As always, this event would not have been possible without the many Advocates staff members who generously gave their time, energy, and enthusiasm. Your dedication helped make the day a success, rain or shine. Thank you for making this year’s Family Picnic such a memorable event!

July 2026 marked the 36th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the civil rights law that protects equal opportunity and access for individuals with disabilities while continuing to inspire progress toward accessibility and inclusion. Advocates’ Executive Director, Amy Dugliss, joined several employees and people receiving services from Advocates at the ADA Anniversary Celebration in downtown Syracuse on July 7. Participants took part in a flag-raising ceremony and marched from City Hall along E. Washington Street in recognition of the ADA’s lasting impact. The beautiful weather made for a wonderful day of celebrating accessibility, inclusion, and the ongoing advocacy to advance disability rights throughout our community. Advocates’ 8th Annual Stroll & Roll 5K was an incredible success! What a memorable day filled with community spirit and family fun! On Saturday, May 16, more than 200 participants gathered at Onondaga Lake Park to raise awareness and support for individuals with disabilities. Our inclusive 5K welcomed participants of all ages and abilities, encouraging everyone to stroll, roll, walk or run at their own pace. Guests enjoyed a delicious grilled lunch, live entertainment, face painting, and plenty of activities that brought smiles to faces all throughout the day. We are so grateful for the overwhelming support from our race participants, generous sponsors and donors, special guests, and the amazing Advocates staff, volunteers, and planning committee. Your enthusiasm, dedication, and hard work helped make this year’s event truly unforgettable. Thank you for making the 8th Annual Stroll & Roll 5K such a meaningful celebration of inclusion, community, and support. We are already excited for next year!

On Friday, March 13th, Advocates held its annual Winter Party & Information Fair at Le Moyne College. Many people we support, their family members and Mentors, community members, and vendors joined us for an evening of friendship, food, entertainment, and connecting with various resources in our area! Advocates would like to thank Le Moyne College for hosting the event, all of our attendees, and the many vendors who dedicated their time! We also send our sincere thanks to the Advocates employees who coordinated the event, as well as those who graciously volunteered their time. We couldn’t have done it without your collective efforts!

On December 7th, 2025, more than 400 friends and families gathered at Driver’s Village for Advocates’ Annual Holiday Party. It was wonderful to reconnect with familiar faces and welcome new ones. We are grateful to everyone who attended and extend our thanks to the Advocates team for their support in making the event a success. We send our special thanks to Santa Claus and his elf, our DJ, and to our friends at Driver’s Village for being such gracious hosts!
